Why is a Google Business Profile so important?

Searches for local businesses are completely different from searches for online businesses. Fortunately, there is far less competition. Yet, a company without a complete Google Business Profile will still very likely get significantly fewer new clients than local competitors with strong Profiles. 

The Profiles are used on both Google’s Search page and on Google Maps. Anytime someone searches for a specific type of business in a particular location or near where they are, both a search page and Google Maps will return a list of companies. 

In both cases, people aren't likely to venture too far down the page. They’ll probably look at the ratings and then click through a few of them to check the reviews. The higher the ranking and the ratings, the more likely a business will be toward the top of those lists.

First and foremost, you must make sure that all of the most important information is entered and accurate. Your customers need to know where you are, what time you're open and what you have to offer in the way of goods and services.

Your Business Profile needs a solid description of your business to give potential clients and customer a good idea of who you are and what you have to offer. There should be several photos to help with that, as well.

You need as many positive reviews you can manage, but you have to be very careful in the way you get them, because Google has some restrictions about that. At the same time, your responses to both positive and negative reviews could help with that.
